This creative kokeshi has a mischievous air.
 It is decorated with the traditional New Year's balls that adorn Japanese interiors at this time of year.
 The balls are stained wood chips and the ribbons are painted on the body of the Kokeshi.
 This one bears a date "54 - 8" in red pencil indicating in principle the entry into a collection. This date refers to the year 54 of the Showa era, or 1979.
