They are a lovely peasant couple. 
 The body is made of two-tone rice straw. Green and natural for humans,  burgundy and natural for women. 
 This work that can be associated with Mingei is simple but touching.
 It is unfortunately not signed by the craftsman who made it.
 The Japanese movement Mingei was born in 1925 in Japan for the revalorization of a craftsmanship resulting from a long tradition and valuing the beauty of everyday objects. The idea of Mingei is that the object should be modest but not cheap, cheap but not fragile. It must be natural, sincere, simple.
