The decor of this kokeshi imitates the grain of wood. An obi surrounds the motif in the middle and brings a certain elegance to this kokeshi.
 This wood grain pattern is called mokume and is specific to Togatta. 
 It is a vintage kokeshi and bears traces of use. See photos
