Kazuo Takamizawa

Born in 1927, Kazuo Takamizawa has received several awards including that of the Prime Minister.

He began to create kokeshi in the 1950s. These are very sober and have few colors. He decided, in the 1970s, to bring a little more color to his creations.

This kokeshi is wearing a very pretty kimono in warm tones of cherry red. The patterns are pyro-engraved, bringing a slight relief.

It is signed under the base of the hanko seal of the craftsman.

It is a vintage kokeshi with some signs of wear.
